(CNN) — Earth is about to gain a new “mini-moon,” but it won’t stay around for long.

LOS ANGELES — Earth is about to get a new neighbor in the form of an asteroid. But this one won’t be making an impact.

For almost two months, from 29 September to 25 November, Earth will have two natural satellites, astronomers have announced.
