Kirk Herbstreit paid tribute to his late dog Ben, who recently died, with an emotional televised segment ahead of the LSU and Alabama football game on Saturday, Nov. 9.

Herbstreit’s beloved golden retriever had become somewhat of a celebrity through frequent appearances on ESPN’s “College GameDay” and in the broadcast booth.

Kirk's service dog, Ben, passed away from cancer on Nov. 7, 2024. Ben, a 10-year-old Golden Retriever, had been diagnosed with leukemia and lymphoma.
