Ohio State appears to be hitting its stride as the regular season begins to dwindle. Fresh off a big road win over a previously undefeated Penn State team, the Buckeyes returned home to put a 45-0 beatdown on Purdue.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s standing in the AP Top 25 now mirrors its spot in the College Football Playoff rankings. The Buckeyes moved up from No. 3 to No. 2 in the AP poll after their win vs. Purdue on Saturday. Ohio State jumped Georgia and only sits behind top-ranked Oregon.

Jeremiah Smith has made it a record-setting day against Purdue as the Ohio State receiver now has more catches than any other true freshman in Ohio State football history. On third and 17, Smith hauled in a catch from quarterback Will Howard that was initially ruled a 17-yard gain and a first down.
