Johnson was an all-state player at Pinson Valley High School and played his first three college seasons at Troy before transferring to Oregon in 2023. He is the adopted younger brother of former Auburn and Oregon quarterback Bo Nix, who played in the 2024 Senior Bowl and is starting for the NFL’s Denver Broncos.
