A pursuit through Fort Smith on Wednesday ended in a crash near the Arkansas River and three arrests, according to Arkansas State Police.

A vehicle hit and killed a man riding a bicycle on the Interstate 549 overpass on Fort Smith Friday morning, according to a new release sent by the Fort Smith Department.

Fort Smith police say they have arrested a man Friday in connection with a Sept. 7 hit-and-run accident that left a woman injured. James Edward Swinson, 50, of South 28th Street in Fort Smith, was arrested in connection with leaving the scene of an accident causing injury or death,

The crash left her with broken ribs, a collapsed lung, a broken arm, a broken leg, and broken ankles, among other injuries.
